Paloma Faith & Josh Weller – ‘It’s Christmas And I Hate You’

Recorded back in 2008 and coming to prominence now due to Paloma’s new-found fame (in addition to her performances of it with Josh Weller on her recent tour), I have to say that I quite like this ditty.

I’m almost tempted to call it a modern-day ‘Fairytale of New York’ but then nothing could ever be as good as that!

Charmingly self-aware, a little bit crap and very bare – add these elements together and you get a video that is very fun and really shows off Paloma’s voice. It made me giggle an awful lot and it was good to get chance to see them doing something from back when things weren’t quite as rosy as they are now.

Those jazz hands at 1:45 FTW, but those snowballs sound like they’d be a little painful if they hit you!!

I soooo can’t wait to see Paloma at Shepherd’s Bush next March (Greg has bought me tickets for Christmas, hurrah!!)
