Street View – Google Maps

Just happened across this new service which has just gone live across many of Google’s maps of the UK’s cities.

It is somewhat addictive I have to admit!

The basic idea is that instead of just zooming down to steet level as you would do on a map, now you can actually see a 3-D photo of the street, as if you were standing there yourself!

It’s easy to do, just search for a place as normal on Google Maps, and if the Street View service is available, you drag the little orange man onto the street and a photo will appear (which you can rotate etc).

Currently, I’m playing ‘find the Street View weirdos!’ (as you can zoom right into people – N.B. faces are blurred!) hehe! Lots of scary looking folk out there, that’s for sure! I am not yet mean enough to start posting pictures… though I did say ‘yet’! πŸ˜›
