LIFE UPDATE: Friday 3rd February 2012

So… I thought it was time for a quick life update!

As everyone and his wife probably now knows, we’ve moved back to my home city of Manchester! :D

We’ve got a gorgeous city centre flat, ten minutes walk away from my work, and opposite from where I used to live before I moved. Very very happy with it, and we’re already looking forward to having friends come to visit.

The past few weeks have been a pretty stressful slog, and it’s great to have come through it on the other side, and to finally be winding down and settling in.

It’s been great fun spending the GDP of a small African country at IKEA and John Lewis, getting all of the new stuff for the apartment, and I think we’ve ended up with it looking awesome! We even spent £80 as a ‘treat’ on an amazing/huge clock!

If you’re interested in seeing the new apartment, I shall be doing an updated ‘video walkthrough’ next week once I’ve got the internet at home to be able to upload the video.

Max really seems to be liking it up here, which is fab, and we’re both incredibly appreciative to anyone who has helped support us during this move, especially Andrew for driving us all over the country in just 24 hours.

I need to start off my CIMA studies again soon, so I’m currently looking at getting all of that scheduled in – again, dependant on the internet at home (I still can’t believe how long it takes to get connected up in this day and age!). Once I complete this first stage (equivalent to a degree), you’ll all totally have to address me as Mr. Gari Davies (CIMA CBA). I will INSIST upon the designatory letters being used! ;) haha!

I’m off work on Monday coming, and I also have a whole week of from Monday 20th February – can’t wait, will be an awesome chance to crash out. If anyone’s about and fancies catching up (or wants to visit already), please drop me an email!

Speaking of work, it is insane just how little has changed since I was last working out of the Manchester office properly – bar a few people changing hair colour/style, it is all exactly the same! It is totally eerie! Very bizarre when you’re talking to someone and continuing conversations from 2007 ha!

Right, enough from me – I’m about on Facebook and Twitter a fair bit at the moment, as I’m forced to cane my 3G mobile internet (constantly with me!) until I get sorted at home and can go back to my iMac, so go on, hit me up folks :)

Thanks for taking an interest!

Gx

I have a gigantic…

cds

… CD collection! :P

Prior to the move, I have decided that I need to get rid of most of my CDs in order to free up dead space, and am currently engaged on a mammoth project to try to rip them all to my iMac’s hard drive (I am doing it at the highest possible quality to rip an .mp3 to – we’re talking 50MB a file – so I am also trying to future-proof this massive collection). Thus far, it has taken about 10 hours, and I am around a third of the way through.

Whilst I am keeping anything that relates to musical theatre, or anything with sentimental value, there is an awful lot that I am getting rid of, as I am something of a music buff (music is genuinely one of the most important things in the world to me, and I strongly believe that the concept of ‘music’ is Man’s best creation!). I will probably, and with a heavy heart, chuck my CDs out at the end of next week (around Jan 7), however, if anyone that I know wants to come round one evening and poke through my collection and salvage anything that they want, then you’d be more than welcome to let me know and we can see what we can arrange.

Going through my music collection, there are so many fantastic songs, albums and memories – I have the usual albums, and then quite a lot of singles, and a lot of promo CDs from promoters and radio stations, some of which didn’t even get commercial radio play – so it really is a treasure trove! I can remember back in 1996 getting my first CD and CD player for my birthday and it was a fascination that has stuck ever since.

It’s also something of a time-vortex, as all of the singles and albums are FILLED with inserts begging you to get your WAP (ha!) phone out and download a picture of the star by texting a number, or, worse, to receive a monophonic / polyphonic ringtone – HA!

Liberty X even had their own hotline!! :o

It truly is amazing to think of how far the music industry has come in the last five or six years, and how much more sophisticated both the market and the technology has since become. Never mind the switch from records to tape, or cassette to CD, I would say the shift for survival between early CDs and the CDs we get today has been the most noticeable change in music provision in recent history, and shows just how much technology has exploded in the last few years.

What is scary is that once this is all done, I will have around 50 continuous days worth of music on my iMac (around 1200 hours), and with my Spotify subscription and massive playlists that I manage, that becomes simply limitless! All that I can say is that it’s a good thing that I have eclectic tastes!

Now, where did I put that Vengaboys album…?! :P

A first peek at our new gaff, and a HUGE plea for help!

6011_CH000567_IMG_04

So, for all you curtain twitchers out there, here are some pictures of our brand new apartment in Manchester City Centre! :D

Should probably add that the apartment isn’t quite as ‘brown’ or ‘peachy’ as these pretty naff estate agent’s pictures make it look – it’s very light and airy too, and incredibly spacious! Hurrah!

Best yet, it’s just over the road from where I used to live, before I moved to London, and only 10 minutes walk to work each morning.

Now, here’s where Max and I desperately need some help, and though we’re not expecting anything to come of this, we’re desperately trying any avenue possible to try to sort out the actual move itself. Below is what we really need, and if you feel that you would be willing to help, you would have our eternal gratitude, as well as a bottle or two of something nice!

  • We are moving on Saturday 28 January 2012, and this date is fixed.
  • The cheapest way appears to be to hire a van from Europcar, and go from London to Bristol, from Bristol to Manchester, and then for the driver to go back from Manchester to London. (or any other variation of this twisty location map – starting in Bristol or Manchester actually makes it a lot cheaper for us).
  • Ideally, we’d need the person to check out the van at, say, 11am on the Saturday, and return it back to the same depot by 10am on the Sunday.
  • Annoyingly, it is the law in the UK that the person who books the van has to have a credit card, and has to be in the name of the driver. I would happily send an same-day bank payment to the person who agrees to do this prior to any payment being made on their credit card – for this reason, we’d prefer to find someone who we’ve chatted to or known for some time if possible…
  • I imagine that you will need to be able to drive a van / have the necessary bit on your license.
  • We will also cover the insurance costs, which prevents an excess charge, but the Europcar may ‘pre-auth’ the card for £250, which does not get taken from the card at all, and is ‘released’ as soon as the van is returned unharmed.
  • We’ll pay via same day payment for the petrol costs too, as they provide a full tank, we just need to ensure there is a full tank when it goes back. Any re-fulling on the way will be paid for by us directly at the pumps.
  • We calculate this as a round trip of 500 miles (let’s all sing The Proclaimers! heh) and appreciate that it could be a long day. We are more than willing to build in plenty of rest stops, and for the person who drives to crash at ours for a few hours on the Saturday evening before heading back on the Sunday morning.

I know that this seems a pretty awkward and unattractive deal, and it is rapidly becoming a HUGE headache for us. Simply, we cannot afford £900 to get a man and a van service to move both of us, and at around a third of the cost, this is really our only option, and is actually the very last hurdle between us and Manchester! It would absolutely kill me for the wheels to fall off (no pun intended) just as everything’s fallen into place so well!

Failing that, if anyone fancies letting us rent their van, or can put us in touch with any non-exorbitantly priced movers, we’d love you long-time too!

If anyone is feeling generous, please do feel free to contact me via email, Twitter or Facebook.

Thanks for reading folks!! x

September 14th 2004…

I’ve been with my employer for 7 years exactly, today.

May not be a big deal to most people, but given that I have only just turned 26 years old, I don’t know many other people my age who can say they’ve stuck with a Company since the age of 19 :D

Just a pity that I’m not feeling very well and have had to take today and yesterday off – booo my immune system! :(

Life Update (Mon 12 Sep 2011)

IMAG1391

It’s just after 17:00 on a very autumnal Monday afternoon. I’m currently sat in the basement of the Waterstones on Piccadilly – a really majestic building that is well worth a look in on any tour of London. I have a pot of tea in front of me, a tiffin brownie thingy, my iPad and currently the Cast of Hairspray The Musical are belting loudly in my ear. There’s no WiFi, 3G or phone signal down here, and, given how hectic life has been, this desolation is absolute bliss, and was just what I was seeking out!!! I’ve just come from work, but as it is a Monday, I finish at 16:15 as I get in early, and tonight I am off to the theatre, and need to wait for my pal from work, Paul, to finish at 18:00.

It’s been a very busy week or so – on Thursday, I was at the World Premiere for Respect La Diva; Friday I picked Max up from Paddington and then we were up first thing on Saturday to pick up day seats for Betty Blue Eyes, The Musical (saving ourselves £60 per person!!); then we had breakfast across town at The Crosse Keys near Liverpool Street, before coming back to watch the evening show of Betty, hanging around at Stage Door after the show, before a nice stroll home (I LOVE living so ‘close’ to the West End!). Sunday evening we went to the Greenwich Comedy Festival for a bit; tonight, I am off to Rock Of Ages and tomorrow is a very much delayed ‘thank you’ dinner for all the staff who worked Wimbledon this year. Weds and Thurs evenings are my own, and then Max is back for the weekend, and we plan to be busy with Open House Weekend, as I’ve always wanted to visit a windmill!!!… and that’s just THIS week…!

Not that I begrudge being busy of course (especially when either Max, the theatre, or BOTH are involved)… if I was left to my own devices, I’d be bored stupid and incredibly lonely! Just every now and then, for a few brief moments, it’s great to shut the World out and go off the radar.

I am very excited that Maxie and I have made our first Christmas plans together! We’re going to be spending Christmas in an awesome 4* hotel in Manchester City Centre, all VERY posh hehe! I’ve not spent a Christmas in Manchester for nigh on 5 years, and not one with any member of my family, for various reasons, in about 8 or 9. EXCITED!!!! I’m a huge fan of my home city, and not a day goes by without me wishing at least once at I was back! It’s all very Home Alone-y I reckon, hehe, but if I get forgotten and left at home, I’m gonna be very pissed!! :-P I shall retain all the tickets… if I can’t go, nobody can…!

Speaking of family, Max met mine the other week… all seemed to go very well! :)

I’ve noticed that I’ve suddenly started maturing very quickly too! I mean, I always thought that I was far too mature for my age anyway, but now, for example, I appreciate the value of a nice quiet sit down and a cup of tea, and maybe a scone or two as well! That’s not to say that random, hyper Gari has disappeared, far from it – the more mature I reckon that I get, the more the other side of me acts up hehe!

Perhaps that’s why I’m really looking forward to seeing Joan Collins on October 2nd! I imagine she is a devious minx, and I wanna get lots of tips offa her!! heh. I’d dearly love to be even a smidgen as fabulous as she is, darhliiing!

I’ve just poured my second cup out of the pot, whilst glaring at this weird lady as she nearly came and sat next to me. Definitely getting this mature thing down to a T, heh!

Oh, instead a random chap has come and sat there instead. I’ll let him off, he has a MacBook, rather than a bag of crumpled newspapers in a Sainsbury’s bag like the witchy lady… maybe he’ll watch a movie or something so I can sneakily watch too! ^_^

I’ve decided that I also really need to try to see more of my current fab friends, such as Simon and Andrew, and try to further expand my social circle – it used to be huge, but over the last few years, the circle of friends that I was in has pretty much collapsed upon itself, and I’ve found myself out of the loop with pretty much everyone these days :(

Oh, how boring… the chap next to me is here to work and type. Ready for him to clear orf now!!!

Just looked up and saw that there is actually a genuine book club meeting right before my eyes! The stereotypes are totally true btw, heh!

I’ve currently got a lot of stuff whizzing around my head at the moment, not much of it that I can process at the moment. A lot of ‘what ifs’ and the like. Gets a bit frustrating and stuff from time to time, but everything seems a bit swirly at the moment, so it’s hard to find a moment to try to pin down an action plan, as I very often find that the very next day things have changed ninety degrees again!

I realised the other day that I’m already looking at stuff well after Christmas 2011, that’s how far in advance that I am working with life :-/

Anyway, this was really just a bit of a ramble post to be honest, and as you can probably tell, if you’re even still here!! Been trying out audiobooks, with One Day being my first, and I’m finding them hard work to be honest. I used to love them as a kid, but as an adult, they’re just far too impractical. Call me an old romantic, but in an age of e-readers and the like, I’d much prefer a tatty old paperback any day! Therefore, this post was kinda unplanned, and accordingly came about as I’ve decided that I can’t stomach the audiobook any more!

Girl just walked in with bright pink hair. I just shook my head and said to myself ‘silly old cow’… I’m definitely maturing and becoming cantankerous! Last week, it would have been ‘FAB!!’ *screech & hand flaps* hehe.

Right, I’m done rambling, thanks for reading! If you like my ramblings, theatre reviews or just genuine awesomeness that I post, do please feel free to subscribe, links are at the bottom of the page.

In summation, I am tired, slightly delirious, but actually, surprisingly, happy with most elements of my life a the moment, it just seems to take rare pockets of quiet for me to be able to recognise this :)

I hope all who are reading are well,
Gari xx

A last goodbye to Betty Blue Eyes… perhaps!

IMAG1355

On Saturday evening I took Max to see Betty Blue Eyes, as he’d never seen it before (and I knew that if there was ever a musical made for him…! heh), and I was desperate to see it at least once more before it closes on September 24th 2011.

I’ve previously reviewed Betty Blue Eyes here if anyone is interested/looking for my review. Only change that I would say this time, I actually loved both Sarah Lancashire and Reece Shearsmith from the start, most so that the characters of Wormwold and Mother Dear! :)

(as an aside, I also had managed to absolutely convince Max throughout the day that he was going to see a real live well-trained pig!! haha! I got a very swift punch when Betty was wheeled out, and could see him blushing in the dark, haha!! x!).

Incidentally, the ceiling at the Novello Theatre has to be one of THE best in the entire West End of London! This photo really doesn’t do it justice, as you can’t see the chandelier properly, or the colours/paintings, but you get a rough idea!

After the show, I went to Stage Door to get my big glossy souvenir programme signed (only £5, guess they’re trying to shift these, don’t think that they were always this cheap!). After a few marker malfunctions, I managed to get the autographs of Adrian Scarborough (Wormwold) and the stunning Sarah Lancashire (Joyce Chilvers, leading lady!).

With Adrian, I had a bit of banter as the marker that I brought out was ridiculously sized and not really fit for purpose, but he kindly struggled on anyway! When Sarah came out, a chap kindly lent me his normal size sharpie, and I managed to get an autograph from her.

Sarah was absolutely charming at stage door, and freely discussed Betty Blue Eyes, and the reasons for it closing (apparently it is nowhere near even recouping its initial investment, let alone its running costs) which is a HUGE shame, as I’d genuinely tout this as one of the best musicals in the West End at the moment! I think we all agreed that, in the end, we hoped that they’d put it to rest for a few years, get it out on tour and repackage it and eventually bring it back.

Once all the folk had started to go, and after Sarah took a few last-minute pictures with them, she then looked back across at us to make sure she’d missed nobody out, and so I asked if she wouldn’t mind, as I didn’t want to be any bother! She was more than happy to oblige, which was really kind of her! I’ve only just gotten over my shyness in asking people for autographs, this is certainly the first photograph that I’ve ever had taken haha!!!

I can still feel her pressed up against my right side haha, I may never wash this arm and cheek again!! haha!!! Really wish I’d had a shave before though, as I look minging! heh!

The above might sound a little creepy were it not for the fact that, as a Northern boy, growing up in Manchester, Coronation Street around 1991-1996 was ‘my time’ haha, so I’ve pretty much followed Sarah Lancashire’s career since then to be honest – it was a pretty big deal for me, hehe! (esp as I love her character so much in this, and tend to sing ‘Nobody’ at home in my dressing gown a lot, haha – perhaps something I should not have mentioned to her, haha!).

After the photo, and despite it being a two-show day, she even took a little time to chat for a while, which was really really kind of her (and great for me, as everyone else had cleared off by then!). She asked where my accent was from (as she’s from Oldham herself), and then asked why I was down in London etc, showing genuine interest, and she said a huge ‘awwww’ when I told her that I was thrilled to meet her! hehe! Then we discussed the show, and why we both felt that it was closing (Sarah agreed with me!) and I said that I was sorry to hear that she (and everyone else) had all lost their jobs so suddenly. I asked if a move to the West End may be something that she’d consider doing more often than screen now, but it seems to very much depend on what is next offered – personally, I’d LOVE to see her in something like a West End production/transfer of Sweeney Todd or similar.

A very classy lady and it was a pleasure to spend five minutes in her company! x

Clarity

Been a bit of a while since I last posted an update, and this was a totally unscheduled one, if I am honest, but I have just had a moment of absolute clarity; the kind that probably only comes around a few times in a lifetime…

Just said goodbye to Max, after spending pretty much all of our time together since Wednesday afternoon, we went to see Batman Live, and then I took him up to Manchester to meet the family and to show him around my hometown and to also take him to Pride.

I have realised just how much I like our relationship. Unlike relationships that I have had in the past, which have more often than not proved rather stormy in places, four months in, Max and I are still getting along amazingly well, there’s no drama, no arguments, no silly mind-games, no illusions – we’re just simply two chaps who love each other heaps, and enjoy snuggling up and doing geeky things! To say that it is ‘effortless’ would be a bad word, as of course we both put effort in to the relationship (arguably he more than I, as I, as I am sure many people already figure, am an absolute pain in the arse to try to keep reigned in; I get FAR too hyper and excitable hehe!!), but you get the drift! :D

Due to distance, we tend to spend a lot of time together in large blocks of time, such as long weekends, and the like – however, if you can find yourself missing someone not 30 seconds after they have left your space, having spent a continuous 100 hours together, then I really think that says something. I am very excited and chuft, and I am looking forward to seeing how this all pans out – but I have a very good feeling about this one, way more so than any other lad I’ve had a long-term relationship with in the past! :)

Spending time in Manchester has really helped me to focus on my longer term goals too. Long time friends, and online contacts, may remember that this time last year, I threw a huge wobbler and was pretty much ready to move my life back to Manchester, thwarted only by my inability to transfer my job back up North!

On reflection, after a fantastic few days back on my home turf, I have realised that I DO still, very much, want to end up back in Manchester, however, I have also now totally reconciled the fact that London is a means to an end, and that I may have to stick it out for the short-to-medium term future…. and hey, that’s totally manageable/do-able!

Going back home just as Manchester was in the grips of the I LOVE MCR campaign was absolutely THE best thing I could ever have done. Partly due to this outpouring of love across the city, and also as Max and I revisited a lot of places that used to be important to me, I totally fell in love with my city all over again, and the proud Mancunian surfaced so much, I cannot even begin to explain. It was like finding my identity again!

I am also really comfortable with my online presence at the moment too; I feel that I have a really good bunch of online friends at present, and some of the bad eggs have finally been weeded out. It’s hard to explain really, but I do inadvertently put so much of my life online, largely due to force of habit (I was social networking before most of you had even turned on an Acorn Computer, and I’m still only just 26 years old hehe!), and so, given I don’t seem to be the most popular person in real life (something I am trying to work on, and thanks to pals IRL who put up with me hehe!), it’s really amazing to have a whole mixed web of people online that I can relate to, and have fun with! :)

Hopefully, with this new-found clarity, direction and focus, I will take this and apply it to real life. Maybe set myself some goals and aims, and ensure that I am much more proactive in working toward these – as realistically, there is nothing that I cannot accomplish! (well, except teleport, but I’m totally working on this right now!! hehe).

Thank you for reading, and sorry if this sounded like some kind of ‘I want to convert you to my church’ thing – it’s not, but I would like to convert you to The Book Of Mormon-ism! hehe! (this musical remains swell, very much looking forward to a West End transfer heh).

Over half a million views!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Although statistics for my blog are not overly important to me, as I choose not to monetize etc, what does matter to me is all the people who take time to visit my site! :) Whether it’s a quick look at some half-naked totty, or if you’re here to read a theatre review, or a dedicated blog subscriber, then I offer you a HUGE thank you!

This post marks that the most conservative of the stats counters that I use has now just topped the half a million mark; a remarkable achievement for what is essentially a blog that I really just keep for myself to look back on when I’m old and grey, with no real agenda or marketing pull behind it. It also is nice to hit this mark at last, given that this blog represents several years of my life, and so it’s fab to be able to feel like it’s achieved something hehe.

I’ve met some AWESOME people via my writing this blog, and I genuinely want to thank everyone who has ever taken even a second of interest in my ramblings, you’re all awesome!!!

And now to celebrate, and toast the next half million, with an iced bun! :D

Mancunian State of Mind

Last night, I went to a Brad Paisley gig at the O2, and the first act on (as, with an hour set, and given his huge back-catalogue, it would be very wrong to label him ‘support’) was the fantastic Darius Rucker.

Brad Paisley

Darius Rucker currently has an awesome album out called Charleston, SC 1966 – well worth a listen to (spotify link) – and perhaps my favourite song on it is ‘Southern State of Mind’ – a fantastic song that I can really relate to, being a Mancunian chap [still!] finding my way through the vast metropolis and strange ways of London!

Therefore, and just for fun, I’ve decided to adapt some of his lyrics to the original song, to make it my own, as it were hehe!

Here’s the video for the Darius track, so that you too can sing along :P

Mancunian State of Mind

I was down in London City,
just the other week.
You shoulda seen the shopkeep’s face when I ordered chips and gravy.
She said “we don’t have that here”
and I apologized, I said “Please forgive me,
I’m in a Mancunian state of mind.”

And those girls out in Essex,
they don’t understand.
They don’t like it when I hold the door,
when I say “there ya go love”.
They act like I’ve done something wrong,
and they give me the evil eye.
I say “honey, I’m sorry,
I’m in a Mancunian state of mind.”

I could be anywhere
in my heart I’m always there.
Where they have chips and gravy and they raise you to be polite.
No changin’ who I am,
that’s they way I’ve always been.
No matter what state I’m in,
I’m in a Mancunian state of mind.

I’m always walkin’ ’round
tellin’ everybody hi.
Justa wavin’ at the strangers
and the cars passin’ by.
Some poeple may look at me
and say that boy just ain’t right.
Hey ya’ll I ain’t crazy,
I’m in a Mancunian state of mind.

I could be anywhere
in my heart I’m always there.
Where you know every body and you don’t think it’s too polite.
No changin’ who I am, that’s they way I’ve always been.
No matter what state I’m in,
I’m in a Mancunian state of mind.

You can see it in the clothes I wear,
you can hear it when I talk.
No coat in the winter and a little northern drawl.
I can be down in Vauxhall or be back home drinking rose wine.
No matter what state I’m in, I’m in a Mancunian state of mind.
Don’t matter what state I’m in, I’m in a Mancunian state of mind.

Yeah, alright.

Mancunian state of mind.
Come on, come on.
Oh oh.

Life update – 16th May 2011

Oh hai! *waves*

It’s been a while since I did a personal update to my blog, and so I figured that it’s about time for an update :)

I’ve recently started seeing the super lovely and gorgeous Max, who lives over in Bristol, and have to say that I am currently on Cloud Number 9 – very very happy at the moment, and genuinely couldn’t be happier! For those friends who are based in London, I shall have to arrange something soon so that folk get to can meet him, as we’re currently doing alternate weekends at each other’s houses (it’s great, I can tell people ‘I’m weekending at my rural retreat’ when they ask what I’m up to, and Max can dazzle folk in Brizzle by saying he’s ‘heading up to his city crashpad’ for a bit of weekend excitement hehe!).

Max is definitely bringing out some good traits in me, not only have I started drinking bucket loads of tea, but I’ve also started cooking again / eating properly – hurrah!!!

The weekend just gone, there was an awesome dinner/Eurovision party at Hugh & Max’s house, and, after a quick trip to the butcher, the greengrocer and the supermarket, Max and I pretty much spent 8+ hours solid cooking up a storm in his kitchen, and we made some of the most delicious food that I’ve ever tasted!! (modest, me?! heh!). For starters, we did spinach, goat’s cheese and cranberry sauce, encased in some super delicate filo pastry shapes that we made; the main course was lasagne (made completely from scratch, and using pork mince, beef mince and the nicest cuts of bacon I’ve ever seen!), served with salad and home-made garlic chapatis (ok, ok, garlic breads – spent most of the day teasing Max on how flat they were heh! Totally his creation though :P I should say, I nicked the photo from Hugh, as mine are stuck on my phone, hopefully he won’t mind!! :) ); desert was a strawberry and white chocolate cheese cake that was EPIC – we served 9 people with very decent sized portions, and we still only used half of it hehe!! From the feedback we received, it was 8 hours well spent, and truly was delicious!

Was also great fun to prepare the meal as Max and I seem to work very well together as a team – we had a great time blasting out Glee songs for the entirety of our time cooking in the kitchen, and, gays being gays, you can bet we had a good old sing and dance along whilst we were cooking too heh :P

(another photo credit for Hugh – I never seem to look photogenic in ANY pictures hehe! Think this is me battling with AirPlay on my iPad to get the next song to stream :P )

So yes,  I am currently incredibly happy – and Max is very much to credit for this!! Very very lovely chap, and I am incredibly proud to call him my boyfriend – I really do hope that some of my friends get to meet him soon! :)

Work wise, I’m currently gearing up for Wimbledon, it’s come around so quickly again!! Two weeks in a bunker doing 16 hour days… joy!!! Heh! (I may roll my eyes, but I secretly very much enjoy it, always great to do something a bit different from the ‘norm’, and I really like working with the people involved – plus I like getting to watch all the matches on TV and it technically counts as ‘work’ hehe!). This weekend, I think I’ll need to head to NEXT or similar to try to find a decent suit to add to my Wimbledon wardrobe.

The main excitement for this mid-week period is that my HTC Sensation is due to be delivered by Thursday – hurrah! Will be SO glad to get shot of my Samsung Jet – biggest piece of bloated, over-hyped junk that I have EVER been saddled with! HTC Sensation looks like it’s going to be the mutz nutz, and I’m very excited to get my hands on one. Moving across to Vodafone from 3 Mobile too, so I am looking forward to actually having a signal again! hehe.

I’m just about to watch the US space shuttle Endeavor launch for the last time on NASA TV – a very sad moment, still absolutely gutted that NASA has been forced to terminate it’s Space Programme. Am a big space geek, and it’s sad to think that by the end of July, it’s very likely that all of the space shuttles will have retired from service. Travesty!

I am off work from Friday onwards, really can’t wait for a few days off! I am free on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week (24-26 May) if anyone that I know fancies catching up at all?

Right, I need to stop writing, as otherwise I’m going to miss the space shuttle launch, and that’ll upset me greatly!! No seriously… I need to stop typing… like now….. now….. now…. right…. gooooone…. now! :P #SpaceBoyGari

(PS – thanks muchly for taking an interest in what’s happening with me and my little World – very much appreciated!! :D x)
